Have you ever wanted to let your users submit multiple entries of the same field set as a single form on your WordPress site? If so, you’re in luck! The Repeatable Fieldset, also known as a repeater field, is part of the core plugin for free.
With our repeater fields, you can quickly set up the feature without the need for complex conditional logic or coding. It’s as simple as dragging and dropping the repeater field into your form, and you’re good to go!
In this article, we’ll show you how to add the repeater field to your WordPress form and customize it in just a few quick steps. So let’s get started!
How to add a repeatable field to your WordPress form
Let’s get started on adding a repeater field to your WordPress form. First, ensure that you are running the latest version of Ninja Forms. You can find out by viewing your plugins or reviewing the Ninja Forms version release here.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll see the repeater fieldset in the Layout Fields field drawer. You can drag and drop it into your form, and it’ll appear as a fieldset where you can add new fields. Note that you can only add new fields to the repeater fieldset, and you can’t drag your existing fields into it.
For instance, suppose you’re creating an event registration form that allows users to register multiple guests.
In that case, you can add fields such as Name and Email within the repeater, and users can enter their own details as well as their guests’ details by clicking the “Add” button.
They can duplicate the fieldset as many times as they like and delete the duplicated fieldset if they wish.
You can also change the label on the fieldset title and the button from the field’s label settings. For example, if you change the label to “Guest,” the fieldset will display as “Guest,” and the button will change to “Add Guest.”
Once your users submit the WordPress form, it’ll show up in your submission record just like a regular submission, but with multiple entries.
For in-depth information on the Repeatable Fieldset, check out our Field Types documentation. Not only does it include information about the structure and properties of the repeater field, but it showcases all fields that are available in Ninja Forms.
