How to Upload Large Files in WordPress Forms

As a small business owner or freelancer, one of the recurring problems you may have run into is when clients upload images for their websites.  Nine times out of ten, these images are too small, so you end up having to reach back out to your client to have them re-upload the larger files.

We all know this is a  P.I.T.A.  So instead of going through asset collection rigamarole, make your life and your client’s a little easier by adding a File Upload field with size restrictions to your WordPress form.

Doing so will inform your clients exactly about the file size you need.

How to upload large files to a WordPress form

  1. Install and activate the File Uploads add-on.
  2. Add the File Upload field to your WordPress form.
  3. Open the Restrictions dropdown and look for the Maximum and Minimum file settings.
  4. Enter a value into the Minimum File Size.  This will guarantee that only files this size or bigger can be uploaded to your WordPress form.Minimum File Size setting

You can also provide extra information using our tooltip/help text. Navigate to Display Settings > Help Text and insert a little note such as Min 6 MB. Now your File Upload field will include an information icon that, once users hover over it, will see a little note.
