Connect Mailchimp to your WordPress Forms in Less than Five Minutes!

If you are like me, you have been on the lookout for a fast and straightforward way to connect Mailchimp to your WordPress forms.  Well, look no further. Our Mailchimp add-on includes an incredible starter template.

The form template automatically converts your existing Mailchimp audience fields into WordPress form fields with a simple click of the button. To get started all you need is your Mailchimp API key. So let’s begin!

Access your Mailchimp account and retrieve your API key

If you don’t have a Mailchimp account, head over to mailchimp.com and click the Sign-Up Free button.  Create your account, log in and finish completing your Mailchimp campaign.  At a minimum, you will need to create an audience.

Add/Find your Audience in your Mailchimp account

To create your Audience navigate to Audience > Audience Dashboard > Manage Audience > View Audiences > Create audience.  If you get stuck, Mailchimp’s help center is an excellent resource. 

Retrieve your Mailchimp API Key

Navigate to ProfileExtras > API Keys > Create  API Key.  Copy and save the key to your clipboard. 

After that, log in to your WordPress website, head to Ninja Forms > Settings > Mailchimp > API Key, and paste in the API keyIf you need help, our documentation goes into further detail.

Initiate the Mailchimp Sign-up Form template on your WordPress site

First, locate the template, go to Ninja Forms > Add New > click Mailchimp Sign-up Form

Second, select your Mailchimp audience list from the provided dropdown, add a Form Title, and Create.

After that, a personalized WordPress form will automatically generate. Matching your Mailchimp audience fields and segments, into corresponding WordPress form fields.

Review the Mailchimp action

First, open Email and Actions.  Check that the Mailchimp action is enabled, toggled to green.  Notice that the template names the action MyMailchimp. For WordPress forms not using the template, the action name is simply, Mailchimp. Open up the MyMailchimp action, to reveal that the WordPress form fields now match each audience field, including the special interests/segments.

There you have it!  All you need to do now is to publish and test the form.
