Front End Posting

The Front End Posting add-on needs to be installed and activated to see the features mentioned in this documentation.

Adding a Front End Posting Action to your form

To add the action to any form, from the Emails & Actions tab click Add New Action and then the Create Post action from inside the Actions Window that opens.

1. Select your Post Type

  • Posts
  • Pages
  • Custom post types (added manually or via third-party plugin)

2. Use the Insert Merge Tag option to choose a field from the form as the Post Title. You can also use other text in the Title.

image of the post creation settings window with the post content setting highlighted4. If Posts is chosen as the Post Type, you will then see a Categories and Tags options appear under the Terms & Taxonomies drop-down.

If you choose “Add Terms Field” under Term Field Mapping, you will be prompted to add a Terms list to the Form.

5. Under the Advanced Settings you will see four options you can change.

  • Post Author
    • Administrator
    • Themselves
  • Post Status
    • Draft
    • Pending Review
    • Private
    • Published
  • Post Excerpt – Use the Insert Merge Tag option to choose fields from the form as Post Excerpt content. You can also add other text to the Post Excerpt content field.
  • Custom Meta
      • You can set a Meta Key, then use the Insert Merge Tag option to choose a field from the form as a Meta Value.
  • You can add multiple Meta Keys
