How to Redirect WordPress Forms to Customized Landing Pages ( No Coding Required )

Hey digital marketers, did you know there is an extremely easy, code-free way to send your leads to customized landing pages?  How you ask?  With WordPress form Redirects, that’s how.

In this article, we will show you how to add multiple redirect actions to any form, each with its own destination—at the same time, using conditional logic to tell the redirect to fire only if certain conditions have been met in the form.  So let’s get started.

How to add a Redirect action to your WordPress form

To begin, add the Redirect action by clicking the blue/+ icon at the bottom right of your Email & Actions tab and then selecting Redirect.

After that, add a website, page, or post URL to the URL field.  This will determine where the user arrives after the form has been submitted. Unable to find the Redirect action? You can find the step-by-step guide to redirects here.

If you redirect your users to your home page, enter “/” Instead of typing the complete URL.  Doing so will save you a few extra keystrokes 🙂

How to add conditional redirects to your WordPress form

The landing page your customers end up on will depend entirely on your marketing goals.  For example, if you own a franchise, you want to send patrons to a location page based on their selected location. Alternatively, send customers to a product page based on their chosen interest if you are selling products.

The steps below can be applied in either situation.

Step 1.  Add a list field to your form

Create a pre-defined list field and add it to your form. This can be achieved using a  SelectRadio ListCheckbox List, or Multi-Select field.

List field options

Add the desired field to your form by clicking the blue/circle + icon at the bottom right.  Drag-and-drop the field into place.  Add a label and value to each option that corresponds with the landing page you want their form submission to be associated with.

Step 2.  Add a Redirect action for each corresponding list option

Create a Redirect action for each landing page.  Add the action by clicking the blue/+ icon at the bottom right of the Email & Actions screen.  Add the landing page URL to the URL field.  This will determine where the user ends up after the form has been submitted.

There is no limit to the number of actions you can have, so go wild.  Just keep in mind that excessive action use will SLOW your website down.  Check out The Definitive Guide to Using Form Actions for more tips and tricks.

Step 3.  Setting up the conditional logic for your redirect action

First, install and activate the Conditional Logic add-on.  Doing so will unlock the conditional logic features for all form actions.

Second, return to the Email & Actions tab, open a Redirect action, and expand the Conditional Logic dropdown.  By default, the conditional will be set to Process This WHEN All is selected.  Leave as-is.

Third, set the condition based on the desired list field. To do so, open the first dropdown and pick your list. Next, extend the second dropdown to reveal the conditional statement ( Has Selected or Does Not Have Selected ).  Third, expand the third dropdown by picking the list option associated with your landing page.
