It’s hard to believe the end of 2018 is almost upon us, and Christmas is practically here! It’s been a pretty fantastic year for us, and that’s 100% because we have one of the most amazing groups of users in the WordPress space. That’s not just dressed up holiday business-speak, either. Y’all really do rock.
From the love you all give us on Twitter (and the Halp! This is broken! too 😀 ), to the fun we’ve had with a lot of you at WordCamps, right down to the (justifiably) upset support emails we get when a thing breaks, your encouragement, support, and even frustration has driven us to innovate and do better all year.
We’ll save the year-in-review for January, but 2018 has seen some pretty major improvements to Ninja Forms, many of which you haven’t even begun to see yet, and a host of other exciting new things.
This has very much been a year driven by you.
Much of your feedback and feature requests revolved around things we just couldn’t do without a significant rewrite of the codebase, and that’s a scary thing for a plugin with 1,000,000+ active installs. Our dev team aged a little extra this year but they got it done, nothing broke, and the stage is now set to introduce some really cool new functionality in the year ahead.
Ninja Mail is a thing now, brought about by the never-ending stream of support requests to deal with email. Email is one of those things that we have very little control over past the point of collecting the email data, but you made it clear that it was a major pain point. Thus, Ninja Mail. We’ve gotten great feedback as the service grows, and look forward to it providing a solution to many others in the future.
Ninja Shop. Can’t even begin to say how excited we are about being able to offer a more comprehensive commerce solution. Many of you are pushing the limits of what’s practical and even possible commerce-wise with your forms. Picking up where iThemes/ExchangeWP left off will hopefully open new doors to growth for many of you.
There is a lot more that we’ve been doing this year, but again we’ll save the year-in-review for later. That’s just a few of the things I’m really excited about as I reflect on the year. Oh. And there’s coffee coming soon. Check that out! There’s other big plans for next year that I’ll get sacked if I talk about, so you’ll just have to wait on those.
Thank you for a fantastic year, and we hope you have an amazing holiday season! 🙂
We’re about to call it a week here and go home to be with our families over the holidays. Support volume is generally really low over the week of Christmas, but even though we won’t be in the office we’ll all be taking some time each day to check in for those of you that need a hand. Just please be aware that we won’t be all-hands-on-deck until after the 2nd.
That said, from all of us here to all of you out there, have a very merry Christmas (or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, or whatever your thing is! 🙂 )… and we’ll see you in 2019!
