With over 250 attendees converging at Nkumba University, WordCamp Entebbe 2019 was hugely successful. Now, after a three-year hiatus (thanks, COVID!), organizers are thrilled to welcome us back to beautiful Entebbe, Uganda, for a new opportunity to celebrate WordPress.

WordCamp Entebbe 2023
WordCamp 2023 in Entebbe City takes place over two days: Event Day on Friday, March 10, and Contributor Day on Saturday, March 11. This year’s venue is the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), giving attendees the exciting opportunity to learn about Uganda’s animals, habitats, and ecosystems.
Tickets start at USh 40,000 (roughly $10), making the event widely accessible to the WordPress community. If you can give more, consider sponsoring the event or purchasing a micro-sponsor ticket at $100.
Your ticket price includes meals, snacks, event swag, all interactive activities, and a free tour of the UWEC.
Speakers and Sessions
The call for speakers is closed! Learn more about the selected speakers for this year’s event here. Each one brings unique insight and experience to share with attendees. Sessions cover a variety of topics, including:
- Freelancing for beginners
- Education and activism
- Programming principles
- UX design
- E-commerce
- And more!
According to WordCamp Central, there will also be a Women in Tech panel and a teacher workshop. All speakerships, workshops, and panels will be in English. Stay tuned for the official event schedule.
Nominate Good Citizens
As you know, WordPress is all about inclusion, community, and collaboration. WordCamp Entebbe is no different. If you notice someone going out of their way to exemplify WordPress values — welcoming fellow attendees, answering questions, and making the event more inclusive — stop by the registration table to nominate them as “exemplary citizens.”
Organizers will highlight good citizens on the event website after the conference concludes.
