His master’s dissertation was on the supply and standardization of Roman military gear in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.
Just for kicks, here are three Roman Empire facts that might surprise you:
Romans cleaned their clothes with a mix of water and urine instead of soap, collected from large vessels placed on streets. Now you know why their togas were so white.
Wealthy Romans typically ate while lying down, which is believed to aid in digestion and reduce bloating during elaborate dinners.
Divorces in Ancient Rome were straightforward, requiring couples to declare their intention to separate before seven witnesses.
