Times are changing, and so is our current PayPal Express add-on. For those of you familiar with PayPal, we’ve used the Express API, which is still maintained from a security standpoint but was deprecated by PayPal in 2017. Well, this is over soon!
You can imagine our excitement to finally announce we will be integrating into Checkout in the upcoming weeks. This means modern PayPal API and new fantastic features are just over the horizon. Also, there will be no more fooling with API credentials, secret keys, and so on!
What new features are about to sneak into the upgraded PayPal Checkout add-on?
We can’t tell you everything yet, but our engineers are working hard to make the new PayPal Checkout add-on awesome, leading to an improved checkout experience for your customers.
This major upgrade will allow customers of the new PayPal Checkout add-on to offer payments not just via PayPal but also by credit card, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later. All these new features will help you maximize conversions and boost your sales.
What’s next?
Ninja Forms continuously strives to evolve and improve, so we could not be happier knowing your life will become easier and your bank account happier with additional payment options from PayPal that will upgrade your sales through your WordPress payment forms.
For all our existing PayPal Express add-on customers, we will be providing continuous support and full assistance in migrating from an old API to a new API. You will get in-advance notifications and regular updates on this upcoming change.
We are evaluating the feasibility of an auto-converter that will turn your Express actions into Checkout actions for you. Although it would not be available at the launch, it would be available reasonably soon after for those with more complex payment forms who don’t want to have to migrate manually.
We’ve also partnered with the PayPal team, which will be offering technical support to ensure a smooth transition for your WordPress website.
Stay tuned for more updates on this PayPal Checkout add-on major upgrade that is coming soon! Don’t miss a thing, and sign up for our newsletter below, if you haven’t yet, to know what we are up to next.
