I can’t believe the month of May is almost over. It went by way too fast. I guess that’s what happens when you spend a week at your team retreat and then recover from COVID the next. It makes for a short month 😂
Let’s get into it, shall we?
Our team started using Basecamp again after a long hiatus. Since switching, asynchronous communication is more active than ever. I’m convinced that this is a by-product of our retreat. Only time will tell, I guess 😉
Saturday Drive Summit 2022
The summit went off without a hitch! Our distributed team came together for the first-ever Saturday Drive Summit. We spent our time in an enormous cabin in the good ol’ Smoky Mountains of Tenessee. We had some good laughs ( Chef Jeremy 👨🍳 , you are the best ), we cried ( not really ), and most of all discovered that we are all pretty cool people who, when push comes to shove, embrace fun.

⏰ How I integrate work into my day
I wake up when my girls wake me up, which is most of the time early. I will do a once-over of the ticket queue while I am getting ready and waking up. Later in the morning, I will spend a large chunk of time in the queue before breaking for lunch. For the rest of the day, I try to dedicate time to meetings and other tasks while checking in on the queue.
Jenny celebrates her 6th year with Saturday Drive Inc as our Financial Operations Coordinator in Operations. Anyone who has had a chance to interact with Jenny knows that you come away with more than you expected, and often a song as well!
She is caring, honest, humble, and amazing, and our whole team is better than her being a part of it! Thank you, Jenny, for your conscientious and happy work today and every day; here’s to the next six years and beyond!
⏰ How I integrate work into my day
I’m not really a morning person, but I can be if I need to be. I am trying to alter my day, however, so that I arrive a little earlier at 1809. For now, let’s say noon I’m around until… I normally have one kind of interruption or another in my day, so I’m usually ok with interruptions and don’t have too much difficulty getting back into the flow of whatever I was previously working on.
