As August winds down and summer starts to come to an end, some of us at Saturday Drive are getting used to peace and quiet, as kids return to their school routines once again.
Many of our team members took well-deserved vacations in August, recharging their energy to dive back into making Ninja Forms better. We have a host of exciting projects underway, including the long-awaited accessibility updates. Now, let’s take a look at what’s been happening in August!

Accessibility Updates
While we are not fully WCAG compliant at this time, we have been making progress in addressing accessibility issues in both WP admin and on the front end for users.
We have a list of known accessibility issues that our developers are currently working through. It’s safe to say that it’s a fair bit more complex than we gave it credit for so please be patient with our small team. 🙂
To this day, we have created a set of internal accessibility standards that have been reviewed and given an enthusiastic thumbs up by an outside accessibility expert. Soon, we’ll have 18 of 26 Ninja Forms fields as accessible as it’s possible to make them.
In the near future, our engineering team will be working on the following fields to address accessibility issues:
- Date/Time
- Select Image
- Star Rating
The end goal for the front-end accessibility work is 100% of fields accessible. But front-end accessibility work is just the beginning. Next, we’ll be looking to make our website accessible, as well as our plugin for the admin and the form builder, so keep checking our monthly news to find out more!
WordPress Accessibility Meetup
Continuing on the topic of accessibility, if you want to learn more about how to be accessible in WordPress, check the WordPress Accessibility Meetup organized by Equalize Digital—an organization, that specializes in WordPress accessibility products and consulting.
