Hang On, What’s a Twitter Conference?
Instead of spoken presentations (in-person or via live stream), Twitter conferences unfold in a series of Tweets — 15 Tweets, in this case, with new topics published every half hour. Each Tweet will include the conference hashtag, making it easy for viewers to find and interact with the presentations.
This is a fantastic example of how technology creates more education and professional development opportunities. With all content readily available right from your smartphone (and completely free), anyone and everyone can join in.
How to Attend
To attend the Post Status Twitter Conference, simply open your Twitter app on May 24, and follow the conference hashtag: #PSTwitterConf. Presentations will be published throughout the day between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm EST. If you can’t follow the conference all day, no problem! The topics will remain on Twitter long after the conference concludes.
Unlike a classic conference, Twitter conferences are more about participating in meaningful conversations than listening to monologues. Be sure to reply to and retweet the presentation posts to get the most out of the conference. The more engagement builds, the more ideas will blossom.
How to Present
If you’ve got WordPress insight you’re itching to share, why not present at the conference? There’s still time to apply before the April 1 deadline. This year’s theme is Give. Grow. Together. Any WordPress topic is considered, but those directly related to the theme have a greater chance of success.
