After disappointing postponements in both 2020 and 2021, the entire WordPress community is thrilled for this inaugural event to finally unfold. And this just in: The call for speakers is now open!
Call for Speakers
The WordCamp Asia organizers recently released a call for speakers. Anyone with valuable WordPress insight is eligible, whether you’re a whizz developer or a savvy marketer. The WordCamp community prides itself on diversity, so speakers from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Suggested topics include but are not limited to business, careers, accessibility, and design. Remember, only one application per person.
Public speaking can be intimidating, so past experience is suggested. If you’re interested in applying but lack experience, check out a WordPress Meetup near you. These laid-back events are a low-stress way to practice sharing your knowledge with fellow WordPress users.
Types of Speakerships
There will be two types of presentations at WordCamp Asia. Long talks will be 40 minutes in length, with 30 minutes for speaking and 10 minutes for questions. If you prefer rapid-fire presentations, lightning talks are another great option. These presentations will be short and sweet at just 10 minutes, with no Q&A to follow.
As of now, WordCamp Asia will not include workshops. If this changes, a separate call for workshop leaders will be announced at that time.
Whether you have lots to share or few gold nuggets, WordCamp Asia attendees can certainly benefit from your knowledge.
Deadline and Schedule
You still have time! The call for speakers closes promptly on September 15, 2022, at 11:59 PM UTC +7 (ICT – Indochina Time). Selected speakers will be announced one month later, on November 15, followed by the full event schedule on December 31.
