The 2022 Year In-Review Highlights
The year 2022 has been quite productive for Ninja Forms. We’ve worked hard to improve our plugin and released multiple new features.
New Add-ons
This year we added two more add-ons to our product offerings. Scheduled Submissions Export and CiviCRM.
Scheduled Submissions Export add-on. Use this add-on to set hourly, daily, or weekly exports of any WordPress form submissions to any email address(es)!
- Schedule a regular submission export for any WordPress form in a matter of minutes.
- Manage the entire site’s scheduled exports from just one page!
So free up time in your day and add Scheduled Submissions Export for WordPress today!
You can get Scheduled Submissions Exports alone or as part of the Small Business, Web Design & Dev, and Agency memberships. So check your membership, and if you don’t see Scheduled Submissions Export in your Downloads, give us a holler; otherwise, try it out. You won’t regret it.
CiviCRM. Connect & update your CiviCRM account from any WordPress form with the Ninja Forms CiviCRM add-on. Easily add or update contacts and activities.
- Create new CiviCRM contacts from any WordPress form
- Allow your existing contacts to update their information
Virtually no setup is required to connect WordPress with CiviCRM. Just install/activate the add-on, and you’re ready to go! Get CiviCRM alone or as part of the Elite membership. Already have the Elite/ Agency membership? Then head over to your Downloads to get started.
Feature updates to existing add-ons
Allow others to view and edit WordPress form submissions. If you haven’t heard, the User Management add-on now comes included with this feature. In my opinion, this is one of the most exciting updates of the year. Say goodbye to adding code snippets to your functions.php file and say hello to the User Management instead. Besides granting user permissions, you can also build user registration, user login, and user profile forms.
Like all of our add-ons, you can get User Management alone; otherwise, it comes included with the Elite membership. To find out more about our User Management add-on, I recommend reading our blog post, allowing users to edit WordPress form submissions and how to enable user registration on your WordPress site. Otherwise, check out our documentation here.
Accept any payment method that’s available in your Stripe account. If you’ve been using Stripe to collect registration fees, payments, or subscriptions, you know this feature is a game changer. You can easily swap between accepting credit cards only or all payment methods for each form.
Get the Stripe add-on as part of our Pro membership or on its own in a one-, five—, or twenty-site license. To find out more about our Stripe add-on, read how to add Apple ( or Google ) pay to Stripe with WordPress and how to upsell with Stripe using WordPress forms. You can refer to our documentation here to learn the ins and outs of Stripe.
Core Updates
In August, we added smart suggestions to our free Ninja Forms core plugin to help make it easier to purchase a new feature that you need or didn’t know you wanted.

- Tumblr
- Drupal

- 44 in planning for 2023
Community Summit is back
I’ve been using WordPress for the last six years, and I didn’t even know this was a thing. So it was exciting learning to learn about this event and that they will bring it back in 2023. If you are interested in attending, I recommend subscribing for updates here.
WordPress is turning 20 years old!
In 2003 I was a junior in high school 😱 listening to music, watching episodes of Daria, and hanging out with my friends. I had just finished an intro to web development class where I learned the basics of HTML and CSS. At that time, I had no idea you could make a living building website with HTML and CSS. I thought there was more to it. I just wanted to be able to customize my Myspace profile 😂.
Now, here I am twenty years later, working in tech, writing a blog post with a tool that launched 20 years ago. It’s wild.
As this year unfolds, be on the lookout for events around the community and commemorative swag to celebrate this momentous milestone. To find out how you can celebrate, visit wp more visit https://wp20.wordpress.net/.
A.I Conversations with Matt
Matt is very much in favor of AI generators. He has done a lot of research and says that ChatGPT4 will blow our MINDS!
Computers still give you answers. The creativity is in the inputs. – Matt mullenweg
I’ve been using ChatGPT on and off for the last couple of months for different creative endeavors and have found it to be a very helpful tool 😉. If you haven’t given it a try, I highly recommend it.
Playgrounds
Have you been looking for a new way to convert new clients to WordPress? Consider WordPress Playgrounds. The WordPress team has developed a fabulous tool that allows you to demo WordPress straight from your browser. No usernames or passwords are required! So instead of setting up a local site, send your clients over to the playground to hang out and get a feel for WordPress.
Be a Cheerleader!
This month’s high-five 🙌🏻 goes out to our friends at Paid Membership Pro. They wrote an article featuring yours truly. If you want to learn more about adding a contact form to WordPress, check it out. It is worth the read.
